- <p> As kids in New Jersey, the sisters sang together during
- trips in the family car. Now thirty something and nicely
- incorporated as the Roches, they still get ideas from one
- another. A hot conversation between Terre, right, and Maggie,
- center, about "antisex backlash in the '80s" wound up in their
- new album Speak. Suzzy jotted down the words ("If you are a
- sexist pig/ then I have got to dislike you/ for the rest of my
- life"), and all three wrote the music. There are two rules for
- close harmony. Says Terre: "We eat right and get enough sleep."
